Catios!

I loved the article in today’s NY Times about “catios” – enclosed areas for cats to safely hang out “outside” without all the dangers of really being outside.

I have long been obsessed with all kinds of cat furniture, including catwalks, cat trees, cat windowsill beds, and so on… but alas, my small New York City apartment doesn’t allow for much experimentation in the realm of cat architecture. If I could, though, I would totally have a “catio!”

Jeremy and all kinds of cats

Jeremy’s friend Hannah submitted some great photos of Jeremy with various cats. According to Hannah, “Jeremy is a very proud cat lover! I believe it is his mission to pet any cat he sees. He can’t help it, they just flock to him like he’s their mother! While he was studying in Buenos Aires, Argentina last summer, he collected an album full of just him petting street cats.” Pictured above is a photo of Jeremy with a friend’s cat in Argentina. More photos after the jump. Continue reading “Jeremy and all kinds of cats” »

Mike, Ellie, and Ernie

Anna, who contributed this photo of her Mike and their two cats Ellie (official name: Eleanor) and Ernie (full name: Ernesto) says, “Any man is much sexier when he has and likes cats.” Of course!!

She also says, “Mike, like myself, has always been owned by cats, and usually that has been more than one or two. I’m also lucky to have been cat owned by most of my life. These guys, Ellie (right on this picture) and Ernie (left) are our lovely current owners. We were adopted by them via a local rescue association (Austin Pets Alive), and after seeing a few cats these ones stole our hearts. Ernie was born with cataracts, so his eyes look sometimes very gray and he doesn’t seem too well, but he is very sweet, and his sister adores and helps him (used to need more guidance when he was smaller). These kitties have never been separate (apart of a few vet episodes) and they definitely are a joy together.”

How lucky these people are to be owned by these cats, right?
