I was walking down the street earlier today in Brooklyn when I saw signs for a missing cat. Since I always stop and read missing cat signs (even though they make me upset), I learned that my favorite local store cat is missing (which then made me extra-upset). If you live in the Cobble Hill area, please be on the lookout for Beastly Bite’s Liberty – usually she’s found napping in the store window on Court Street, or hanging around in the store and climbing on customers. She’s really friendly, and all black. If you see her, call 718-522-5133. I snapped this pic with my camera phone but I’ll try to get a better one later.

Adopt a Cat (or Dog) in Brooklyn
From the Brooklyn Heights Blog: This Sunday, the Pets Emporium on Montague Street will be hosting a pet adoption event with In Our Hands Animal Rescue. You can adopt a kitteh, cat or doggie – they have all been neutered/spayed and vaccinated. Hop on over there at noon for some pet cuteness, Brooklyn-style!
Men and a Big Cat
I’m not sure if I buy that this a “true story” as is being claimed (really, they bought a lion cub at a department store, and it was exercised at a church and named Christian? That’s just too much) but this is pretty cute and funny, especially with the accompanying musical score:
Court and Radar
Check out this NY Times article about a New Yorker named Court who has trained his cat, Radar, to walk on a leash.
“That animal looks uncomfortable,” was my husband’s comment.
