(Big) Cat-Loving Man of the Week: Kevin Richardson
According to this article in the Daily Mail, “Animal behaviourist Kevin Richardson has such an intimate bond with big cats that he can spend the night curled up with them without the slightest fear of attack…lions are his favourite. He lavishes them with unconditional love, he says, treating each individual differently, speaking to them, caressing them and, above all, treating them with respect.”
The pictures of him cavorting with the big cats are INCREDIBLE. I think this one might be my favorite, though:

According to this article in The Sun, Pete Doherty — the infamous British rocker and on-off-boyfriend of Kate Moss — is none too kind to his kitten.
“JUNKIE Pete Doherty is snapped appearing to give his kitten crack — from a mini-pipe he made specially for it.
Sickened pals who leaked the picture claimed the warped rocker regularly gets the pet smashed.”
I hope this is not true, and that if it IS, this man gets help. Giving a cat drugs is NOT FUNNY.

Michael Vinson, a construction worker in Acworth, Georgia rescued a kitty who was trapped in poured concrete at a construction site. After taking the kitten to the vet, who proclaimed the cat lucky to be alive, Michael took the cat home and named him – what else? – Stone. The full story is here.
