Cat-Loving Man of the Week – Jerry Dominicak

According to this post on Itchmo, a man saved a cat’s life by giving the cat mouth-to-mouth after it became trapped in a storage area at a casino in Iowa.

Jerry Dominicak, executive director of the Siouxland Humane Society, had been called in by a casino employee. After feeling the cat’s weak heartbeat, he performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on the cat. Luckily, his mouth-to-mouth worked and the cat started breathing again.

Jerry Dominicak, you are our cat-loving man of the week!

Great handmade pins for men who love cats – and anyone who loves animals

Menandcats.com usually stays on-topic, discussing only men and cats. And while this post is about a great pin that states “Real Men Love Cats” (pictured above) I must go slightly off-topic for a moment to discuss my love of all things handmade, and my love of Etsy, the website where one can buy and sell all things handmade and crafty. The “Real Men Love cats” pin can be purchased through thedogcoatlady’s Etsy store. Her whole store is great, and a portion of the money you spend there will go to the Jacksonville Humane Society. And while you’re at it, why not visit your humble webmistress’s Etsy store as well for more crafty goodness.

Cat-Loving Man of the Week

This week’s Cat-Loving Man of the Week award goes to paramedic Lee Rayburn. He helped save the life of a cat who was trapped in a burning home in Knoxville. Rayburn and other paramedics gave oxygen to a cat named Zoey – she survived, although there was so much smoke that her white fur turned grey. Zoey is currently at an animal clinic and is in an incubator after receiving anti-inflammatory drugs and oxygen therapy.
Lee Rayburn, we salute you and your colleagues for going the extra mile for a cat in need.
